Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive medical procedure that uses concentrated light beams (lasers) to remove unwanted hair.
The intensity of the laser beam is adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of the hair being treated as well as your skin color.
New technologies such as combining multiple wavelengths in a single treatment session optimizes results by targeting hair at different depths and stages of growth.
The area to be treated should be shaved a day or two before the procedure. Avoid waxing or plucking the hair prior to the procedure. A cooling gel is often used to protect the outer layers of your skin and minimize discomfort. Avoid sun exposure for at least one week prior to treatment. The treatment typically takes around 20 – 30 minutes to complete.
The effectiveness of laser hair removal largely depends on the treatment frequency; typically, multiple sessions (6 – 8) are required to achieve optimal results, with treatments spaced 3 – 5 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions may be needed annually or biannually to address any new hair growth.
